What should I expect? |
Expect to meet new people and have fun - and to get some exercise done too! The session starts with an optional 45 minute warm-up and stretching session. This is followed by free-fencing on the box with the option of participating in group workshops or having a 1-on-1 individual lesson. All kit is provided and coaching is also included. |
In addition to free-fencing, we also run team-matches and poules. From September 2008 we will also to be introducing a ‘club ladder’. |
GB and Welsh senior Internationals are welcome to join us free of charge. GB and Welsh Juniors or Cadets may join us at the discounted fee of £3 per night. |

Can I compete? |
There are many different ways to compete in fencing at all levels and for all ages. Fencing is also unusual in that, although energetic (and good for the thighs!), it is not all about fitness! You can win through cunning or through speed, logic or simply experience. Veteran fencers are particularly active with an excellent Welsh Veteran Association and many team, individual and social events geared purely towards those over 40. |
In addition to club and inter-club competitions there are also matches against other clubs and local team competitions. For the competitive fencer you can get out there on the circuit and earn yourself a ranking! If you get high enough you may even find yourself fencing for Wales in a few years time. |
