Fun, friendly classes for 7-13 year olds specialising in either epee or sabre. Students work towards their Ddraig Wern Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards. |

What can I expect? |
The U13 session always begins with a joint Sabre/Epee group warm-up and stretching session. Games are designed to be fun and energetic, but also to develop the skills required for fencing. This is followed by footwork session and then the groups are divided for either a blade-work workshop and/or free fencing. We are very lucky to be able to offer fencing on the ‘box’. This expensive appartatus allows students to score hits and for them to be registered with a beeping noise and a light. |

Where will this lead? |

Fencing in the UK is currently a minority sport - particularly for the younger age groups and even more so in Wales. Although you can choose to be purely a club fencer, or to focus on gaining your gold award, it is possible to compete on the Leon Paul Junior Circuit and a very real possibility of winning a medal or a Welsh representative spot at the Welsh Youth Championships and the BYC qualifiers. Carmarthen is a very supportive club with both the coaches, and parents offering lifts to most events and with electric kit provided on a first come, first served basis. |
